Prof. Dr. Gert Denninger, University of Stuttgart
All music is based on the production of different tones that are structured in terms of time, frequency and intensity. The most important concepts are intermittency, resonance, consonance, dissonance, and harmony.
All aspects of this, such as sound generation, sound propagation, sound reception (ear), impedance conversion (inner ear) and sound detection at the cochlea are prime examples for the application of the physics of vibrations and waves.
We will be investigating these varied physical phenomena with the help of entertaining and often astounding experiments. This really will be music to your ears.
