The construction industry is undergoing extensive change. The European Green Deal - together with increasing digitization – are key drivers of this. The high demand for resources and energy in the construction industry makes the topic of "construction" a key area for any ambitious climate policy. At the same time, the construction industry is currently facing a rather turbulent situation, with supply bottlenecks and in some cases drastic price increases.

This event is intended to provide brief and concise information on the most important developments and to highlight specific approaches to solutions from the research sector, but also from practical experience. The following questions are central to this:

  1. What are the current market developments in the construction industry?
  2. What changes will digitalization and the European Green Deal bring to the construction industry?
  3. What solutions are already available to us today?

This event is organized by the Steinbeis Europa Zentrum on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism Baden-Württemberg and as part of the Enterprise Europe Network. From the University of Stuttgart, Prof. Jan Knippers from the Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design, will be speaking on the topic of "Integrative Computer-Based Design and Construction for Architecture." Dr. Walter Haase, from the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design, will be addressing the topic of "Adaptive Envelopes and Structures for Tomorrow's Built Environment."
