SOFIA the flying infrared observatory will be visiting Stuttgart Airport from the 15 to 20 September. The aircraft is the world’s only flying infrared observatory and one of the biggest bilateral US-German projects dedicated to exploring space. The University of Stuttgart coordinates the research operations undertaken from SOFIA and it is one of the university’s projects with the most external funding.
