Prof. Dr. Sebastian Padó, Institute for Natural Language Processing, University of Stuttgart
Over the past few years, digital language assistants like Siri and Alexa have clearly shown that machines are capable of understanding human language (at least most of the time). But how can computers gain access to our emotions, which play an important role in many text genres but appear to be much more difficult to comprehend? This lecture will provide insight into the field of text-based automatic emotion analysis, which covers everything from fundamental aspects of psychology, to machine learning methods and even applications in literature and social media.
