The collaborative research center 1244 Adaptive Envelopes and Structures for Tomorrow’s Built Environment invites you to attend this year’s summer lecture series entitled Adaptivität als Utopie (Adaptivity as a Utopia). The second lecture entitled "Adaptive Buildings: Adaptive People" will be held by Bill Addis, Technical University of Munich.

For the last 40 years, Bill Addis has dedicated himself to studying building technology, building materials and structural design. Alongside his career as an engineer in the aircraft engine industry and as a consulting engineer at Happold Engineering in London, he also taught as a professor at the University of Reading, the University of Cambridge and the University of Tor Vergata in Rome. For the summer semester 2018, he has been appointed as a guest professor at the Department of Structural Design at the Technical University of Munich.

Bill Addis has also published his work in numerous publications, journals and books.

This lecture will be held in English.
