Rector Ressel at the GAIN networking event

August 22, 2022

At the largest networking event for scientists from Germany, the University of Stuttgart is giving information about development opportunities in science and research.

After two online events, the Annual Conference of the German Academic International Network (GAIN) will take place on site again. The new venue is Bonn, where the event is aimed, for the first time, at postdocs from Germany who are currently working in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, or Oceania.

This year, too, the University of Stuttgart will be present at the annual conference and give information about development opportunities in science and research at the University of Stuttgart. In the “fachbezogenen Forum: Naturwissenschaften und Ingenieurwissenschaften”, for example, Prof. Wolfram Ressel, who is the Rector of the University of Stuttgart and President of the TU9, and other panelists will be talking about their own and institutional experiences with different career options and the challenges associated with them. Ressel is also involved in the thematic workshop “Berufung: Bewerbung, Verfahren, Dos and Don’ts”, giving practical tips and advice in cooperation with the Managing Director of the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers, Dr. Ivonne Dorf.

Dr. Holtkamp, the Senior Advisor on International Affairs, will be available to answer visitors’ questions at the Stuttgart stand of the talent fair accompanying the conference and give information about specific career opportunities at the University of Stuttgart.

The GAIN annual conference and the accompanying talent fair is the largest networking and information format for so-called potential returnees who are interested in career opportunities in Germany. The main organizers of the event are the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). In 2023, the annual conference will be held in the US and will be aimed at scientists from Germany working in the North American region.
