The BUGA Wood Pavilion won the Holzbau Plus - Award in the category "Innovation". The project was selected out of 200 applications! Thanks to the entire project team and to the BUGA 2019 for giving us the possibility to innovate on this level.
The prize was awarded with the following statement from the jury:
“The BUGA Wood Pavilion demonstrates the possibilities of material-efficient lightweight wood construction to the public, and also shows the potential of research activities on the use of renewable raw materials in the building industry. The possibilities addressed here for the extension of existing building stock and the reusability of the wood components convinced the jury to award a special prize for innovation. The pavilion shows approaches to sustainable, digital wood-based lightweight construction. The segmented, finely structured shell construction was designed parametrically and manufactured robotically. Including waterproofing, the structure can be dismantled and reassembled elsewhere.”
