Under the slogan “Without us, there is no ‘we’! – Speaking up for one another, strong together,” many members of the university community took part in Saturday’s CSD march through downtown Stuttgart. The University of Stuttgart participated for the third time:
A group of marchers who took part in the parade from Feuersee to Schlossplatz once again sent a visible message of diversity, respect, and solidarity. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all students, staff, alumni, and supporters who were there.
However, the joy of the CSD in Stuttgart was overshadowed by the shocking events in Berlin. Our thoughts are with those affected, their loved ones, and the entire queer community in Berlin. The right to live openly and without fear is not just a gesture for special occasions. It is an ongoing commitment—for the University of Stuttgart as well. We stand for diversity, respect, and peaceful coexistence.
Pride flags were also raised on campus last week as a sign of solidarity with the queer community.
