This degree program is founded on cooperation between the philosophical institutes of the University of Stuttgart and Sorbonne University Paris 8. Unique in Europe, the study program links study content to the key topics of philosophy of technology/philosophy of culture and interculturality/globalization.

Both institutes contribute their respective research emphases to the study program. The latter’s goal, besides imparting subject-matter competences, is to strengthen the student’s intercultural skills in a framework of German-French studies.

+-

You cannot shy away from long texts, should work and think carefully, analytically, and creatively. In discourse with your fellow students, you should represent your interests in classical, modern and own theories by argumentation. You do not need prior philosophical knowledge but interest in contemporary social questions is a must and in principle you need to be curious about and have a flair for language (particularly French).
