• Germany’s political system
• political theory
• international relations

To convey an adequate description of the concept of politics, it is examined on three levels in the course. Politics is about values and goals and it is a form of social action. The focus is on the political system represented by the state.

Political sciences at the University of Stuttgart resides in the Institute for Social Sciences, underlining that it is conceived as social science employing its scientific methods. The study program is therefore designed to be rather more empirical than hermeneutical.
