My skills
“Why?', 'How come?', and 'How does it work?” are part of the core vocabulary of aspiring chemical and bioengineers! Curiosity is an essential requirement for this study program. In addition, you should possess the following skills:
- Interest in the natural sciences, as well as a good understanding of mathematics, computer science, mechanics, and engineering.
- An aptitude for analytical thinking, the ability to grasp new concepts quickly, perseverance and self-motivation.
- Teamwork skills and a willingness to learn and develop your skills through practical exercises and practical laboratory sessions.
My interests
- Do you wonder where the various products you use every day come from?
- Are you interested in how plastics or batteries are recycled, for example?
- Have you always wanted to know how we could improve technical processes to reduce energy requirements?
- Are you interested in how a chemical reaction can be scaled up from the laboratory to a large industrial plant?
These and many other questions are of interest to chemical and bioengineers. For that reason it is important that you are not only interested in natural sciences, but also in their technical application, in chemical plants for example. An interest in working with computers is also important, as they are a central tool in the engineering profession.
