Understanding the mechanisms of life processes at the chemical level

The Biochemistry degree program deals with exciting questions such as:

  • What is the molecular structure of living organisms?
  • How can DNA inherit biological properties?
  • How do processes such as metabolism and movement work?
  • How do diseases develop?

Biochemistry explains life processes at the molecular level. It plays a central role in basic and clinical research, the development of drugs and the synthesis of novel natural substances.

The Biochemistry degree program provides a comprehensive specialist education—beginning with practical laboratory courses in the first semester—underpinned by a solid foundation in chemistry, mathematics, physics, and biology.
