The University of Stuttgart has a varied menu of initial orientations to departments and areas of concentration. We set aside special days for general informational sessions, such as our Science Day. You can also arrange to attend classes for a day to get an up-close feel for a study program. We also put on events especially for schoolgirls and young women.
Since our biggest target audience are students at German high schools, our events and offerings are only available in the German language. Therefore, we only briefly introduce our orientation aids on this page and then link each to the detailed information in German. For any further questions regarding your choice of study program, please contact the Student Counseling Center. Questions about the application process should be directed to the admissions office.

The study program information day is a day dedicated to study orientation. It is designed as a chance for pupils to get to know the University and the study programs. - Abi in progress: workshops and counseling on what to study “MITten im ABI”

A trial study day lets pupils sit in on real university classes in a specified subject and so get a sense of a typical day in life at a university. - Science Day “Tag der Wissenschaft”
This is the day set aside for the institutes and departments to introduce themselves on the Vaihingen campus and offer a varied, entertaining and informative program to attendees. The activities are all conducted in German; however, you can also ask questions in English at the booths. - BOGY Internships “Praktika”
Students in high schools (Gymnasien) in Baden-Wuerttemberg are required to do a career orientation internship. The University of Stuttgart offers internships for BOGY (high school). - Early admissions “Frühstudium”
Highly talented students still in high school can grow into their studies with early admission to the University of Stuttgart. It helps them get a sense of their future place of learning and thus ease into their studies later when they start studying in earnest. - TryScience
This is a chance for schoolgirls and young women to get acquainted with many STEM study programs (STEM = science, technology, engineering and mathematics). By combining workshops, information sessions, and pupil mentoring, an individual study program orientation can be customized. - For girls: Girls' Day
Like many public institutions, the University of Stuttgart also puts on a Girls‘ Day at the end of April to get schoolgirls interested in the natural sciences and engineering. - Orientation assistance at the MINT-Kolleg [de]
With skills classes, preparatory classes and more, the MINT-Kolleg offers help and counseling preliminary to taking up regular studies in the STEM subjects (STEM = science, technology, engineering and mathematics). - Child development research campus
