Mechatronics B.Sc.
The Mechatronics curriculum is interdisciplinary and aims to provide graduates with general training. It is based on the mechatronic system approach as required by modern, computer-based manufacturing technology. The introductory modules of the course (years 1 and 2) comprise a balanced range of units from mechanical and electrical engineering as well as computer science. To complete the Bachelor of Science degree after year 3, students must choose additional modules in the area of mechatronic devices and computer science for production. Mechatronic devices deals with the integration of mechanics, electronics and computer science for the development of intelligent hardware for machines and vehicles. Computer science for production specialises in the integration of computer science and production techniques with a special focus on software technology. These two areas can be studied in greater depth in the M.Sc. degree in two further years.
