Aerospace Engineering B.Sc.

The Aerospace Engineering degree course is a consecutive B.Sc./M.Sc. program. It aims to train engineers to be able to master the increasing challenges in the field of aerospace engineering in an innovative and interdisciplinary manner. The 6 semesters of the Bachelor’s program provide a comprehensive and fundamental knowledge complemented by diversified and state-of-the-art subject-specific content. The students are trained to work independently, thus enabling them to fulfil a wide range of demanding duties. This increases their job prospects in various fields where the application of the latest scientific methods and technologies is required. The students must collect 180 credit points during the Bachelor’s program. The credit points are distributed among discipline-specific modules, key qualifications, a mandatory internship and a Bachelor’s thesis. The discipline-specific modules include basic, core and complementary modules. An eight-week first mandatory internship should preferably be completed prior to the beginning of the course. During the sixth semester a minimum twelve-week second mandatory internship in industry must be completed. As part of the Bachelor’s thesis, students are offered the opportunity to be involved in ongoing research and development projects.
The Master’s degree course based on the Bachelor’s program will be offered starting from winter term 2012/13.
