Geodesy and Geoinformatics Engineering B.Sc.
Geodesy and Geoinformatics Engineering is the discipline behind such diverse technological developments and applications as car navigation, geocaching, Google Earth, geospatial information systems, GPS and Galileo satellite systems, or wireless location. As an engineering science it is the backbone in the acquisition and representation of geospatially referenced data ranging over all scales: from observing the Earth system and modeling global change to airborne and terrestrial data acquisition to surveying and monitoring engineering structures. The study of Geodesy and Geoinformatics Engineering requires a sound basic knowledge of mathematics, physics and computer science. Students will be exposed to the latest technological developments including sensor technology. The program enables students to both solve tasks in industry and to analyse and work on problems in research and development.
