Hybrid materials of functional organic and inorganic phases are promising candidates for tailored materials in future technologies; their performance often surpasses that of synthetic analogues. The international conference NanoBioMater 2017 focuses on the design and scientific exploration of biohybrid functional materials. This interdisciplinary field of research will be discussed with emphasis on nanostructures and their technological uses, chemistry, biology, processing and materials science. The conference scope is to address the individual components contributing to hybrid materials, e.g. synthetic hydrogels, biotemplates (derived of plant viruses, further biomolecular complexes, or peptides), structure-directing enzymes and biomineralization, as well as beneficial combinations and applications thereof.

NanoBioMater 2017 is intended to be an international and interdisciplinary symposium on cutting-edge research in the field of nanostructured biohybrid materials. Oral presentations of original research will be given in a plenary session format. All conferees are encouraged to submit and present posters of their latest research on the poster session.
