Prof. Peter Scheurich (Immunology)
Our work aims at the molecular interactions and mechanisms of death receptor signal complex formation and the quantitative understanding of the intracellular signal networks. Further, crosstalk with survival signals as well as heterogeneity within clonal cell populations and their effects on resistance development are investigated.[mehr]
Prof. Roland Kontermann (Biomedical Engineering)
Our research interests focus on the development of recombinant antibodies (small bispecific and bifunctional antibody molecules, humanized antibodies) with improved biological and pharmacokinetic properties and targeted nanoparticulate carrier systems for cancer therapy. [mehr]
Prof. Monilola Olayioye (Molecular Tumor Biology)
We are interested in the functional contribution of specific oncogenes and tumor suppressors to cellular transformation, with a focus on breast tumorigenesis. We are studying membrane-proximal signaling events that control cell proliferation, migration and invasion. [mehr]

We are interested in the physiological functions of Protein Kinase D. Specific projects address the role of PKD and its substrates in secretion and tumor cell migration and invasion using 2D and 3D cell culture systems as well as whole organisms (transgenic mouse models). [mehr]
Dr. Dafne Müller (Cancer Immunotherapy)
Our research has its focus on the development of combinatorial strategies for cancer immunotherapy in form of targeted approaches involving bispecific antibodies and antibody fusion proteins with immune modulatory ligands and cytokines. [mehr]
Dr. Olaf Maier (Neuroimmunology)
We focus on the ambivalent role of the tumor necrosis factor and its two receptors TNFR1 and TNFR2 in neurode-generation and neuroprotection. Our aim is to develop TNF receptor-specific therapeutics for the treatment of autoimmune and neurodegenerative diseases. [mehr]
Dr. Heiner Böttinger (Biomanufacturing Lab)
Our work is centered around the production of biologicals mainly by eucaryotic cells. Monoclonal antibodies are developed and produced in higher quantities. Development of new purification and production strategies for different proteins as well as modifications like PEGylation are investigated. [mehr]
