Research - Structure and Properties of Polymeric Materials

In our interdisciplinary research team of physical and macromolecular chemists we are working on the synthesis and the morphological and electrochemical characterization of novel tailor-made polymers and nanomaterials. We are particularly interested in functional polymers, i.e. macromolecules which provide for example special electrical, optical, biological or surface-active properties.

One of our main aims is to understand and control structure-function relations of novel materials which have potential use in applications such as photoactive layers in organic solar cells or membranes in batteries and fuel cells.
