Councelling Interviews (CoIn) as Pre-1st Term Activity
Preface
The first term of the INFOTECH Master is somewhat different to terms 2
and 3. It's structure is more tight and students have less choices
than in terms 2 and 3.
For a timetable see the First Term Timetable
The 1st term of the INFOTECH Master is always preceded by
an optional German Language Intensive Class (GERM). As students need to
show a certificate of German language proficiency at A1 level before
starting the Master Thesis project, this 6-week course is recommended for
everyone. E-mails for registration will/have been sent to those being admitted.
The Basic Modules of the first term should prepare for
the second and third term and also - to a certain extend - compensate
knowledge deficiencies from Bachelor regarding the INFOTECH program. It is
recommended, that students check out the list of EC and CS modules found on the
Curriculum Basic Modules pages to prepare for the Counseling Interviews (CoIn).

Information to be provided
Further Information
To reach the recommended 30 CP per term, it is
recommended to attend the Non-Technical Module "Information and Contract Law"
(IaCL) during the first term. IaCL is taught as block course during the
first or second week after lecture end, winter term, see Important
Dates, with an exam a couple of days later, for the exam date see Exam Dates.
The exams of the Basic Modules AHM, CS
and EC are done typically
within one week at the end of March. The time after lecture end winter term should be used to prepare these exams. All of them
are written exams and last for 2 hours (AHM) or 1 hour for each of the
Sub-Modulesof the Container Modules
(CS/EC).
The marking of CS and EC will be set
based on the sum of points from the examined sub-modules of each. It is necessary to have
a total of 40 points out of 100 to pass CS or
EC. If lower, the CS or EC exam has to be done once more, with the same
and all sub-modules as before. The table below summarizes the points
