Bioinspirierte Mineralisation

Mit Hilfe der bioinspirierten Materialsynthese lassen sich unter moderaten Reaktionsbedingungen verschiedene Oxidkeramiken wie Zinkoxid (ZnO), Titandioxid (TiO2), oder Zircondioxid (ZrO2) herstellen.

Mit Hilfe der bioinspirierten Materialsynthese lassen sich unter moderaten Reaktionsbedingungen verschiedene Oxidkeramiken wie Zinkoxid (ZnO), Titandioxid (TiO2), oder Zircondioxid (ZrO2) herstellen, die sich durch ihre elektrischen und optischen Eigenschaften auszeichnen. Dabei lässt sich durch den gezielten Einsatz von organischen Additiven (u. a. Peptide, Proteine) die Abscheidung maßgeschneidert steuern.
Im Falle der bioinspirierten ZnO-Bildung konnte von unserer Arbeitsgruppe in Anwesenheit von ZnO-bindenden Peptiden gezeigt werden, dass die Kristallisation über metastabile Zwischenstufen (basische Schichtsalze, LBZs) verläuft (Abb. 1). Dieser Mineralisationsprozess folgt der Ostwaldschen Stufenregel. Die Morphologie der einzelnen ZnO-Kristalle wird dabei über eine selektive Adsorption der Peptide an ZnO gesteuert.
Auch durch die Zugabe von Proteinen (z.B. Gelatine, Lysozym, Bovine Serum Albumin) kann das ZnO-Partikelwachstum beeinflusst werden(Abb. 2). Dabei wir die Aktivierungsenergie (EA) durch das Protein drastisch gesenkt. Diese energetische Absenkung von EA wird durch attraktive elektrostatische Wechselwirkungen zwischen organischen und anorganischen Komponenten verursacht.
