   Between 1528 ad 1540, M.O. owned a house in Regensburg, Steckgasse. From 1535 to 1544 Ostendorfer was active as court painter in Neumarkt for Kurfürst Friedrich II., afterwards in Amberg, since 1549 again in Regensburg where he died in poor conditions.
