Service University & Family
The reconciliation of career and family is of high priority for Stuttgart University; it is a central pillar of an internationally and equal treatment oriented college. Since 2003 the Equal Treatment Unit, supported by the university management, has been involved successfully in the reconciliation of study, scientific qualification, work, and family.
In August 2011 the Service University & Family was founded, which exclusively deals with the subject of this reconciliation. As a central point of contact for the parents and students working at the university it will continue and develop further the existing offers, concentrate information, and consult individually in all situations.
Furthermore, the Service University & Family will prepare and carry out the certification of Stuttgart University as a family-friendly college within the framework of the quality seal “audit berufundfamilie” (“audit careerandfamily”) introduced by the Hertie Foundation.
