Doctoral scholarships according to the Landesgraduiertenförderungsgesetz

According to the Landesgraduiertenförderungsgesetz (LGFG) graduate plans of highly qualified young scientists and artists are supported by scholarships. The revised version of this law, which came into effect in 2008, strengthens the autonomy of the colleges and thus their flexibility concerning their decisions e.g. about the amount and duration of the scholarship to be granted.

At the universities an individual support is possible as is the support of graduating students within the framework of a “structured doctoral study course“ (“strukturiertes Promotionskolleg“).
