EIP, the European Institute of Planning, is an Institute at the International Center for Cultural and Technological Studies (IZKT) at the University of Stuttgart.
EIP is a center of work and research which is affiliated to the IZKT as an independent organizational unit. Its mission is the support of international cooperation between universities, institutions and companies that engage in the research and practice of urban planning and design.
EIP organizes and conducts seminars, conferences, workshops and training courses on an international level for researchers and practitioners of planning. It initiates interdisciplinary research projects which focus their analysis and purpose on the normative implications of urban concepts and the influence of the cultural context.
EIP consciously recognizes and respects the tradition of European cities, without regarding them as a norm for urban development in other cultures.
